Introduction
The eCommerce market is posed for rapid acceleration and the internet has essentially offered the business community a new medium for product/services distribution and rich customer interaction.
On the global dimension, serious electronic commerce activities and initiatives are launched by many governments and international organizations, the WTO, WIPO, ITU and OECD just to name a few are such organizations that the Ministry of Commerce deal with on regular basis. To be on par with these organizations and to be able to meet the new business requirements professionally, the eCommerce Directorate has devised its vision and mission to cater for such trends to help better support and progress the business community.
The world of eCommerce, as some might think, is not limited only to the process of buying and selling products and services through the Internet, but much more. Nowadays, eCommerce has expanded to include the process of buying and selling the information itself!! At the rate of its growth, ECommerce future is limitless.
The eCommerce Directorate is the focal point and the functional arm for all activities related to eCommerce both on local and international fronts, in liaison, with other directories within the Ministry and other related organizations in the public and private sector.
