Domestic Trade Affairs (DTA) is responsible for the process of establishing all types of businesses, their renewals and amendments, through the implementation of the Commercial Laws.
By maintaining regular contact with businesses, including personal visits, as well as initiatives to enhance corporate governance, anti-money laundering and other performance enhancing areas, the DTA strives to support existing businesses, encourage inward investment and enhance the organic growth of domestic trade.
Recognizing the importance of eCommerce as a business enabler, the DTA has a specific Directorate charged with promoting the uptake of eCommerce, and is involved in a number of programs with private sector partners, to ensure that Bahrain becomes the regional centre of choice for eCommerce business.
