The Assay Office
The Government of Bahrain has always given a high priority to protecting customers and at developing the jewellery sector. Within the framework of this policy, the Government has introduced rules and regulations that are intended to regulate the precious metal (gold, silver, platinum) industry.
These rules and regulations conform with best international practices.
The Assay Office was established in Bahrain in 1979. Manned with professionally trained Bahraini technicians, the office now ranks high among similar specialized offices throughout the world and is recognized as one of the most sophisticated precious metal control agencies in the Middle East. The office is in regular contact with European offices through exchange visits, training courses and participation at international Assay office conferences and other organizations concerned with control of precious metals.
