Standards and Consumer Protection

The standards and consumer protection aims to improve the productivity of the national commercial and industrial companies through the implementation of the total quality management (TQM) concepts and practices of quality, environment and occupational health and safety management systems in accordance with international standards.

The Standards & Consumer Protection  also aims to control and monitor the quality of products, both imported and locally manufactured, through a quality assurance mechanism for compliance with approved standards in order to protect the consumer's rights and promote the reputation of Bahrain's market.  

Another main objective of the Standards & Consumer Protection  is boosting the reputation of the kingdom of Bahrain in the sector of pearl, jewelry and gemstones through the coordination with other world Standards & Metrology Committees in developing a harmonized monitoring system for precious metals and gemstones in order to enhance trade between the member countries.
